Kia Ora Whanau,

Welcome to our new whanau that have just joined us I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday and are ready to get into the swing of things.  This letter will tell you a little about myself, my expectations and events you and your child can look for this term.

Ko Huruiki te maunga, Ko Whakapara te Awa, Ngati Hine te Hapu, Ko Nga Puhi te iwi, Ko Noelle Adams ahau. My mountain is Huruiki, My river is Whakapara, My sub-tribe is Ngati Hine, My tribe is Nga Puhi.

My name is Noelle Adams I am on my third year teaching in Room 12, I am a proud ex-student of Clendon Park School, I have two children aged 4 & 5.

This year I can assure you your child’s success in my classroom is my number one priority, I hope to involve more parents/caregivers into what we do as it really does benefit your child’s education.

ATTENDANCE – Attendance is monitored every morning and afternoon, it is crucial for your child to attend school as it determines the learning growth of your child especially at this early stage. Please ensure they come to school every day. If it is a medical issue inform the office as they will ring home.

LATE PASS – If your child is running late ensure they have a note as they will be sent to the office to receive a late pass.

UNIFORM – It is compulsory for your child to wear school uniform every day except for sport or mufti days. Last year we had piles of clothes in our lost property box outside Room 10 so please check you have named your child’s belongings.

HATS, LUNCH & DRINK BOTTLE – It gets very hot at this time of the year so a hat, lunch and drink bottle must be brought to school. If they do not have lunch send a note with your child and we can arrange an office lunch for them.

SWIMMING – Starting Wednesday this week swimming is compulsory. Please ensure TOGS and a TOWEL are named and packed into a plastic bag every day. If they’re unable to swim students MUST bring a signed note stating why.

HOMEWORK–In your child’s stationary pack they would have received a Book Bag (I have spares your child can borrow) this is to be taken home and brought back every day. Students will receive a reading log for you to sign off once they have read their reading books and completed any extra tasks.
